Drunk RDA official bashes vehicle in Mongu as police loot his beer

An RDA official in the company of women friends last night bashed his official vehicle in Mongu.

The accident happened in Mongu town last night around twenty one hours near the roundabout.

One source said the yet to be identified RDA official, driving the Toyota Hilux ALH 6457 from Lusaka was in the company of three women and believed to be drunk with Chinese beers which were found on the seats of the same vehicle.

The over speeding vehicle was moving southward from town and was only saved from diving into the ditch by the giant advertisement poster.

None of the four passengers in the vehicle was hurt but the driver was resisting to be arrested when traffic police come on the scene but finally he was taken to  Mongu police.

One source disclosed that Police officers went away with some of the bottles of Chinese spirit which is too “strong.”

Chinese made spiritts found on the seats

By press time the vehicle was still on the accident scene with a lot of people taking pictures and watching the same.

u guys y r u arguing over a simple word, Sprint means very fast or speed.so sprinter means a fast vehicle.

  2. Easy   December 10, 2012 at 12:16

Easy you people we have more serious things to do. The vehicle is insured. Lets talk about progressive issues in this country, not tu chinese rum.

    • One Zambia One Nation   December 10, 2012 at 15:19

Too bad for the accident, its good that they survived so that they can pay for their carelessness. My complaint is about electricity in our country, Why cant ZESCO improve there working attitude, power goes whenever they feel lyk, these are the guys that earn alot of money and one wonders really what they are doing if they deserve the huge salaries they earn. Why are they bothering pipo lyk this. Someone somewhere is not performing his duties. A simple announcement to alert clients that power will go at such a place at such a tym is failing ZESCO. Realy it is inconveniencing pipo.

I feel sorry for the Hilux, not the driver

Its being not responsible and retrogressive, people must learn to work with minimum supervision. The altitude towards work is bad.

Whether u’re carrying yo sisters, mother, an accident is an accident who knows maybe the writer will flip tomorow unless he does not drive

  20. Advocate   December 8, 2012 at 12:38

The cause for blaming everything on the head of state is because all appointments in the country are his creation and constitute the majority of his relatives or those they speak the same language. I doubt if there are Lala, Mambwe, Lungu, Ushi, Namwanga, Bisa, Lunda, etc. or spoken for that matter anymore . Thes are dead tribes and their owners have shamelessly forgotten them.

  21. Nshinwa bwino   December 8, 2012 at 11:30

Since when did a Hilux become a Sprinter?

    • king fisher   December 8, 2012 at 11:56

  22. Posapo!   December 8, 2012 at 11:19

Rubbish!Finding beer in the vehicle doesnt mean that the driver was drunk. No law forbids carrying women or ladies in the vehicle.
When are you changing the name to suite your reporting?

    • SEMEKI   December 8, 2012 at 11:32

You should ask yourself that who was driving and caused this. Where was the driver and why has he not found at the sine? Probably he went to report himself to Police. If he ran away and reports himself to police the he was then drunk.

  23. don vito   December 8, 2012 at 11:07

I think the reporter of this story also took part in looting the Chinese beer. how cud he start seeing a Toyota hilux to be a Toyota sprinter.

  24. corn bensons   December 8, 2012 at 10:53

Bravo watchdog, this is good reporting. the chap must be convicted, thats a lot of txpayers money that was used to purchase those new vehicles, and if am not mistaken, for the link zambia road project- not for linking his gals…

  25. Be Serious   December 8, 2012 at 10:50

As long as you keep on blaming Sata for everything even things the unborn baby is able to reason given a chance, you will never develop. Be serious!

    • JUDGE CHIKOPA   December 8, 2012 at 11:13

of course its Sata to blame. why not. these are his relatives. camon

    • SEMEKI   December 8, 2012 at 11:38

Who is the Head of RDA? Is it not the President? Who supervises Him when such things happened? Was the gentle beer drunkard on duty or was away from Duty?

    • Mzilikazi   December 8, 2012 at 17:59

What development can u write about in Zambia under PF cadres & calibre???? 4get as long as u recycle yo leaders, its a stagnant mode…!!!!

  30. Snake Lady   December 8, 2012 at 10:20

It is said that the official has made it a habit to bash vehicles. Why he is still in employment is anyone’s guess. These vehicles were procured for link zambia 8000 project at considerably higher cost than usual[265m each] , but as has been seen, they are now being used for pleasure jaunts. This guy should be surcharged and then fired.

  31. Amafi Yaba Ukwa   December 8, 2012 at 10:18

This must be Ukwa’s relative. Only Ukwa’s relative or friend can behave like an animal. Shame on this useless president. He needs to be castrated.

  35. Julu   December 8, 2012 at 10:13

Ba Watchdog thanks for timely reporting. I was in Mongu town yesterday and i left this vehicle with same number plate at a pub around 21:00 hrs. So the man was busy quaffing at night with a government vehicle using tax payers money. Plse punish this man so that others can learn a lesson from him. How many times are we going to see and watch government resources being misused like this RDA guy. I call upon all the relevant governemnt line ministries – Permanent secretary western province Mr. Bertty Mushalla, DC – Mongu Mr. Litula, Police Commisioner for Western Mr. Siandenge, Officer in charge for – The madam including RDA Chairperson to investigate this case and punish the careless governemnt officer for misusing government resources. This will act as deterant to others.
    Luitumezi sha!

  36. Shontonono   December 8, 2012 at 10:11

Actually, ripped through the round about before being saved by the sign post. There were in fact two serious accidents in Mongu last night

  37. lerato   December 8, 2012 at 09:58

Is that a Toyota sprinter? It looks like Hilux. The driver should be charged for driving under the influence of alcohol.

  38. Gondwe   December 8, 2012 at 09:56
