Photo of the day: Edgar Lungu ‘hammering’ Nshima and beer

He is often the acting president when Michael Sata is out, but Edgar Lungu, the substantive minister of Home Affairs has serious alcohol problems. Here, he is seen demolishing a mountain of Nshima with fried fish but no gravy just a lot of salt – typical drunkard. He is the one in  black and old fashioned hat. The chap has no manners as he is eating Nshima with a hat on his head which is totally unAfrican.

But most interesting check under the table near his leg and tell us what you see. Looks like he takes beer in place of water after akabwali.

all those who are siding with the minister are very articulate and normal. There is nothing wrong with that.

  4. i.k   June 21, 2013 at 11:57

  5. bashi tasha   June 21, 2013 at 10:39

ummmmmh ba watchdog leave the man alone that bottle was probably left by some one else. one its too far from him and in a position that clearly shows its not his, secondly it doesn’t look “fresh” guzzlers know what i mean. and about the hat the guy is outdoors and its allowed to wear a hat so i see no problem.

Hey iwe mwe bantu. If u have been through UNZA, as a student u will understand and explain what Edgar Lungu was doing.

Edgar was a MONK and for monks they had a speciality.

U can enter his room. The Monk will be cooking, Kambilombilo (kambi’s). He will position the hot plate and open the windows such that u cant get the aroma and u wont get his food even if you have come to gate crush his food.

His leg will also be positioned such that u wont see the cooking going on whilst the heat is also warming the leg. Edgars leg was hiding the Castle, see properly.

Serious Monk act…. Not for the faint hearted.

    He He

Watchdog please don’t go to the DOGS. You are our vision – this news on Minister Lungu is in very bad taste. I respect your publication please don’t compromise on your integrity.

  19. sim two   June 19, 2013 at 18:12

The best way to make pf and upnd bloggers unite is to talk against beer! Well done watchdog!

  20. goldilocks   June 19, 2013 at 17:43

So what did you expect the man to do at lunch time, have an outside catering truck from the Taj Pamodzi or State house? If the water there was not clean, beer was a brilliant idea. I would do the same.

Just because you’re an adventist does not mean we should all do the Ellen G white arrangement and run away from home brewed lagers. I must provide employment to my brethren at Zambian Breweries.

What we need are pictures of Masebo bending over to take it up from behind, or the first lady with her legs spread wide and a driver thumping. That would be shameful. Having a quick pap, with fish and a beer before going back to work is not news. Germans expect it and ask any German NGO worker, you are allopwed a couple of beers with lunch.

  21. oranje91   June 19, 2013 at 17:05

It seems fitting that the minister of home affairs is partaking in meal that most citizens partake in. We are not going to pounce on the Home Affairs minister for being “Homly” are we?

  22. cghikl   June 19, 2013 at 16:48

ba fikala whats your problem, let the guy enjoy de fish and a bottle of castle.

  23. Wakala Wafulaywela Changala   June 19, 2013 at 16:35

You have a duty to deal with serious maladies affecting our nation. If you drop this low in your reporting, we will lose a voice that we need raised high and above reproach. They is too much good fight out there do not get mixed up.

  24. Zambezi Express   June 19, 2013 at 16:09

There is everything wrong with the picture. If this guy is indeed the one left to act as President of the Republic of Zambia, then he should watch his back.He can easily be poisoned by his enemies in PF who are envious of his hefty acting presidential allowances.By the way the A Mazoka and B Mwiinga all died of poisoning.

    • Neighbor of Makwacha   June 21, 2013 at 14:33

It is in the public domain that Andy was poisoned by his chief financial then after having lunch together. This is the same guy who has assumed one of the top leadership positions in UPND now.

  29. Vibe Star   June 19, 2013 at 15:04

Are you guys chasing me away from reading the watchdog? How can eating ugali( nsima) and having a beer be an issue for Edgar.?

    • zed@real   June 19, 2013 at 18:54

he is known to be drunk even on official duty iwe chikala

  30. spoonface   June 19, 2013 at 14:38

I’m no PF fan but this is a low blow. Hammer the chap for a statement or lack thereof, not this lousy arrangement.

Like a veritable villager, you assume that anyone drinking a beer has set out to get sloshed. You’re the kind of person that cannot have a cognac after a meal or a glass of wine with a meal. Too much bush pig in you!

If the chap said something idiotic, by all means publish it.

  31. Rod   June 19, 2013 at 14:38

    garbage reporting!

  32. DiZzaSTa ZZone   June 19, 2013 at 14:23

you even paid yo paparazzi for this picture…. ba ZWD apa pena mwaloba ilyauma kwati ni ililine lilelya Edgar.

  33. so-so   June 19, 2013 at 14:14

Nothing wrong with the photo. These are people who are just having a meal. The bottle could be for him (Edgar)or somebody else. I wonder what the ZWD could have written if Edgar was captured taking in the bottle. Bane there are better incriminating photos you can get. But this one mwaitaya (you have thrown it).
