ZRA HQ in bomb scare

Staff at ZRA head office were this morning evacuated from the building after a bomb scare.

Sources told the Watchdog that the entire building was evacuated for about 3 hours as bomb disposal experts were combing the building after the call that paralysed operations.

Reports received so far indicate that the situation has since normalised and employees have gone in their offices.

It is so far not known who are behind this.

It is totally wrong. It is absolute negligence. How can a stratgic and critical organization like ZRA not have online security surveillance systems and eletctronic access control? ZRA is suppose to have a secure system to mitigate against possible theft, criminal risks, fires etc like BOZ. Its high time we reorganized institutional integrity and security in this country!
Ministry of Lands Registry (Deeds & cartoghraphy) are so unprotected. Do we realize what confusion would ensue if the Ministry was gutted or the system was disabled?

It was just a trick of chasing BA shushu so they can destroy future evidence of their corrupt records in the offices

After the ‘bomb disposal experts’ finnish combing ZRA, the following could be the result:-

    1. POST newspaper suddenly does not owe ZRA any money anymore, infact their books are in credit and ZRA has to give a cheque to Mumembe instead.Santa still wraps miracle presents, hurray!

2.MMD, HH etc surprisingly have huge taxbill from ZRA, files have only just been found in the area where the bomb experts ‘looked for a bomb’

      3. MMD & HH planted the bomb!

Just as well, Kabimba is trying to divert his embarrasment to sanction Libinda when this is the day of reckoning for discharging Lubinda.

So what do you do? Divert the news and launch the long planned and awaited removal of Mmembe’s files at ZRA by faking a bomb alert.

This is so cheap!! School Boys can do better than this.

Now Bomb scares again. Just as was the case with UNIP, except that UNIP had championed the national spirit of liberating all these small and big countries around us and afar (Zim, Angola, Mozambique, RSA, etc.) some of whom are now insulting us with impunity; calling Zambians all sorts of names. I was on an Intercape bus recently when an uncouth and very boring talkative youngman from Zimbabwe breathed out some unprintables about Zambians, foolishly forgetting that despite the arrogance/hostility against Zam exhibited by many Zims shortly after their independence in 1980 (16 years after Zam’s), in their hour of need following self-inflicted injuries (due to mismanagement and hero-worshipping) in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Zams welcomed them back with brotherly/sisterly open arms. In lusaka – Mandevu, Marrapodi, Chawama reverted to ‘ndizopindirana’ once again. In Lstone, the centre town market was even called Zimbabwe market. We indeed watched as scores of scores of Zims arrived at that market every morning (usually maximizing aroung 10h00 after the arrival of those who crossed the border on a daily basis) to do their daily bread issues and wind up the day with the infamous/popular 2.5Kg maize meal bag. Unlike the other neighbouring country which shipped them back across the border in truckloads, we helped them a millionth time once again.

These are neighbours who insulted us shortly after inheriting the perveived riches. I saw this with mine own eyes one miserable afternoon af Vic Falls when Zam cross-border female traders were ridiculed and searched like criminals to their privates – all because they had bought bread and that once popular Zim magarine. I and a colleague who was then working for UNDP (Zam) challenged these crooks about their uncivilzed acts and were prepared against all odds to take them on. They tried to intimidate us but later realized their skeletons. I the mid-1990s I heard of many unsavoury stories from Zams passing through Zim to and fro RSA. Now that the Katima Mulilo bridge is fully operational, and the Kazungula bridge is hopefully in the making, it is high time we learned to avoid those who ridicule us.

Yes, bombs again like in UNIP days; but UNIP had a humatarian national task on its hands, and so was MMD. This regime has neither and has no excuses to justify people’s wide-spread disappointments from deserving expectations borne out of loudly pronounced promises. Let us all unite and take them on for deliberately cheating and relegating motherland to the list of failed nations. Creating scares with a view to winning public sympathy just won’t do. LET US DEMOCRATICALLY TAKE THEM ON NOW AND IN 2016.

    Very disgusted Patriot.

  22. White Robo   December 24, 2012 at 11:24

Bomb disposal experts = Shushushus retrieving incriminating files.

So they needed 3 hours to do their dirty job before saying there was no bomb (meaning they have finnished checking files).

  23. kayula   December 24, 2012 at 11:21

It was demos in learning institutions and workers, Barotse land, fuel shortage, water shortage in UTH, meal meal shortages and now bomb scares, What next? THIS IS WHAT HAPENS WHEN EVERYONE WANTS TO GET THE GREATEST AT THE SAME TIME. lets wait for God’s time becouse its the best

  24. INDPENDENT OBSERVER   December 24, 2012 at 11:04

This is BS. They have been planning for this for some time to remove all the files on “False Prophet Mmembe”. We’ve known about this move since July 2013

We know the names of the fake Bomb Squads they sent to specific offices and File Cabinets to get rid of copies

Its a replica of what happened to Kulima Tower when former Chief Spy, Xaviar Chungu sent his boys to burn down one entire floor.
