1700 bags of fertiliser stolen in Rufunsa

Over 1700 bags of fertilizer under the government sponsored Farmers Input Support Programme (FISP) have been stolen in Rufunsa district.
Agriculture and Livestock Permanent Secretary David Shamulenge told ZNBC Tuesday that investigations were under way to establish the people behind the theft.
He said over 850 farmers have been affected by the theft but was quick to mention that Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia (NCZ) has been ordered to replace the stolen fertiliser.
Most of the farmers are already affected by the government’s failure to pay for the maize they supplied the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).
