About 68 medical staff at the newly constructed Shangombo District Hospital are sharing 14 houses and hospital wards for their accommodation.
Shangombo District Hospital Medical Superintendent Patrick Chikunta has disclosed.
Dr. Chikunta explained that the hospital was operating without a laboratory and x-ray room including a mother’s shelter.
He noted that relatives to patients are currently using an old store room made of iron sheets as shelter.
He said the challenge of lack of accommodation and transport has affected the medical and supporting staff in their execution of their duties.
