Kabimba’s Lawyer plunders K 15 million for ex-civil servants

over 2000 former civil servants have not been paid three weeks after justice permanent secretary Josephs Akafumba corruptly decided to transfer their retirement benefits amounting to K15 million (rebased) to Lusaka Lawyer Rabson Malipenga instead of legally appointed lawyer, Nelli Mutti.
Two weeks ago Akafumba paid Malipenga without a formal court order after conniving with a Siachoke Simazeze, Voluntary Separatee Association of Zambia General Secretary who had an unsigned court application to change lawyers.
It has come to light that Siachoke decided to change lawyers after his proposal to Ms Mutti to deduct an extra three percent so that he can be paid gratuity was turned down.
It was at this point that Siachoke organised three other executive members out of 12 to sign a fake change of lawyers letter.
Malipenga whose law firm can hardly attract graduates from ZIALE was ready to assist Siachoke since a K15 million was beneficial to him in case of putting in a 24 hours call account.
This has resulted in over 2000 ex-civil servants not being paid their dues with some receiving below K7500 which they are entitled to. Malipenga is one of Wynter Kabimba’s lawyers during the tribunal.
