Media institute of Southern Africa (MISA) says it is irresponsible for the media to exaggerate President Edgar Lungu’s illness, according to QFM.
MISA Zambia chairperson Hellen Mwale says the levels of unprofessionalism being exhibited in some sections of the media with regards President Lungu’s health is worrying as it has the potential to mislead the nation. Someone needs to save MISA from this woman urgently.
Hellen Mwale wondered why some sections of the media have been particularly swift at reporting that the President collapsed during the commemoration of the international women’s day at heroes stadium. This news has been reported by BBC, Aljazeera, ABC, CNN, Yahoo news and every news organisation, so what is this woman talking about? She wants journalists to wait? Which journalism school did she go to? MISA members must flush out this person as matter or urgency.
She says her organization is of the view that it is important for the media to be factual and accurate in their reporting as they are the first to give Zambians first hand information. It seems she os only one who doesn’t know that Lungu collapsed.
