The PF abused Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC- has today taken Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili to court over the alleged corruption charges they slapped on him last week.
When the matter came up this morning before Lusaka Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile, the state submitted 34 counts of possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Among the ‘offenses’ is that on August 18th, 2016, Mr. Kambwili had K495,000 in his account domiciled at Zanaco bank suspected to be proceeds of crime.
In another count Kambwili is accused of being in possession of K180, 000 suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Kambwili was however not in court as he is still sick and admitted in hospital. The court was told that despite being in hospital, Mr Kambwili was still under police custody.
The matter has since been adjourned to Thursday this week for plea.
After arresting Kambwili, the PF police and government panicked and attempted to evacuate him to South Africa following his illness but his family turned away the ‘offer,’ and urged them to evacuate poor patients who are on the UTH waiting list.
