THE Anti Corruption Commission has summoned late Michael Sata’s press aide George Chellah for questioning. Chellah confirmed the summon but said he was not aware what the investigation was about, according to the Post Newspaper.
“Yes, I was called and I will appear [for questioning] next week Wednesday,” said Chellah, adding, “I am not sure what it is about but if you get in touch with ACC, I am sure they will give you details. I can only confirm that they called me today (yesterday).” Sources at ACC disclosed that President Edgar Lungu’s political adviser Kaizer Zulu had reported Chellah to the commission. “What we know is that he (Chellah) has been summoned for an interview. But this is under State House instructions. There are stories coming from there that Chellah has a lot of property and some of it is suspected to be proceeds of crime. And the charge we have been given is that of [him] being in possession of property believed to be proceeds of crime,” sources explained. The sources explained that the State House aide physically went to ACC headquarters to report Chellah. When contacted, Zulu said it was not true that he had a grudge against Chellah. “I have no grudge with umwaiche wandi George. Those people who are telling you those stories want to pit me against George. I don’t think that is right for people at ACC to accuse me of reporting him,” Zulu said. “Right now I am in Kenya, so how can I be at ACC and at the same time I am in Kenya? That shows you that people are lying.” ACC acting public relations manager Dorothy Mwanza said she was not aware of the matter and requested for a press query. – See more at: http://www.postzambia.com/news.php?id=9398#sthash.w1of9ETg.dpuf
