After blocking UPND, PF says will hold rally at Kitwe’ s Freedom Park

After blocking the UPND from holding a rally at Freedom Park in Kitwe, on pretext that it’s not yet campaign time, the PF has announced that it will hold a rally at the same venue the same day.

PF deputy spokesman Frank Bwalya told reporters this morning that:

‘We wish to inform our members and all patriotic Zambians that we shall hold a rally in Kitwe at the Freedom Park to endorse our party leader Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu as PF presidential candidature in the 2016 presidential election. The meeting will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2016 starting at 14 hours. Senior members of our party including our Secretary General Mr Davis Chama, Hon Dr Chishimba Kambwili, Hon Jean Kapata will be among those who shall address the meeting.’

Last week, both the police and Kitwe city council told the UPND that they won’t allow them to hold a rally on May 14, 2016 at Freedom. They used the ECZ as scapegoat and the council sarcastically even attached the ECZ programme to a letter it wrote to UPND, Kitwe branch.
