PF president Guy Scott has appointed Bridget Atanga as secretary general to replace Edgar Lungu but Lungu insists that he has just gone on leave to try his luck on the presidency and will revert to his position if he is not elected at the party general conference.
Lungu relinquished his position after filing his nomination for adoption as PF president and indicated that Bridget Atanga who was his deputy would assume the duties of secretary general. Today Scott appointed Atanga and his lawyer and late President Michael Sata’s nephew Anthony Kasolo to be secretary general and deputy secretary general respectively.
It is now clear that after his bid to get the PF presidency flopped, Lungu has lost hope of ever winning the party presidential race mainly dominated by Sata’s relatives. Lungu is also the justice and defence minister and the chairperson for the PF disciplinary committee.
