The Central committee of the PF has upheld the recommendations of the Ngosa Simbyakula led disciplinary committee not to mete any further disciplinary action against its member, Roan MP and former Information minister Chishimba Kambwili for calling Copperbelt province youth chairman Nathan Chanda a wizard.
During a briefing of the Central committee meeting yesterday, the disciplinary committee established that the tiff between Kambwili and Chanda who is also Luansya Mayor was purely personal and the party shouldn’t be dragged into that matter. While Kambwili was fond of using vulgar language, Chanda was misusing President Edgar Lungu’s name in his clandestine activities.
Any insider discloses that it was recommended that both Kambwili and Chanda however be reprimanded for abusive language and abusing the President’s name respectively. Chanda and MMD Die hard youths coordinator Bowman Lusambo are some of the officials Lungu is using on the Copperbelt to frustrate Kambwili as he fears that he may unseat him for the PF presidency which will be subjected to election at a convention. Lungu wants to manipulate the constitution to go for a third term but Kambwili is one of the PF founder members opposed to such machinations.
Meanwhile, the insider has disclosed that the decision to convene a Central committee meeting and clear Kambwili was due to the mounting pressure from the PF members who feel neglected. As a way of punishing Kambwili, Lungu initially just wanted him to remain in the dark about the disciplinary case hearing but members especially Copperbelt based started to demand for the outcome.
Lungu is still determined to fix Kambwili using the Anti Corruption Commission, which he can easily manipulate and that will spell doom for his political career.
