Airtel Zambia has refused to provide to court particulars of telephone messages for two Journalists Clayson Hamasaka and Thomas Zgambo that had their messages diverted. In reaction to a ruling by High Court Deputy Registrar Kelvin Limbani who ruled that Airtel provides to court details of telephone messages for the two journalists between 2013 and 2014, Airtle has filed a notice to appeal according to a search conducted. Meanwhile, a Source at Airtel says the company is scared to release the information requested because several prominent people who were communicating with the journalists appear on the list.
Among the notable people are Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament such as Michael Kaingu, Dora Siliya, Levy Ngoma, Likando Mufalali and Garry Nkombo. Others are MMD President Nevers Mumba, Kuchunga Simusamba and several other prominent persons.
See copy of notice to appeal.
