The PF regime has refused to renew the contract of Akashambtwa Mbikusita Lewanika as Managing director for Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA).
The PF has instead appointed a Ronald Phiri to act as TAZARA Managing Director for an interim period of three months while they are still looking for a family member to appoint permanently.
Mr Phiri sits on the TAZARA Board of Directors
Akashambatwa has only served for three years as head of Tazara when the PF refused to renew his contract that ended in February 2013.
TAZARA is managed by Zambia and Tanzania but for some reason, it was agreed that the managing Director should always be appointed by the Zambian government.
