President Rupiah Banda says he has been invited by South Africa president Jacob Zuma to attend and witness the official opening of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa billed for June 11.
President Banda confirmed having received the invitation to Journalists at State House Friday morning.
President Banda said it is important for everyone to be part of the World Cup which is being played on African soil for the first time.
President Banda also appended his signature on a soccer called Africa’s ball.
The ball which has about 13-thousand signatures from different African countries is been anchored by the Spirit of Football Project.
