Another K5.6m given to PF youth clubs

Government has disbursed more than K5m to some more PF youth groups, documents from the ministry of youth and sports have revealed, but this is in addition to the over K12m which government has failed to recover.

A source in the ministry has disclosed that while K12,632,340 still remains unaccounted for, another K5,832,128 has been given to some more youth groups mostly aligned to the ruling PF as at February, 2015. The source further said that some of the beneficiaries still owed government some money in the earlier disbursement but wondered how they were given some more money.

“We still have more than K12m unrecovered and yet some of the people that have not paid back have still accessed some more money. There are no chances that this money will ever be repaid,” said the source.

Earlier this week the Watchdog exposed the scam in which some PF youth clubs on the Copperbelt and Lusaka have not paid back K12,632,340 money obtained from the Youth Development Fund. The disbursement of funds was sanctioned by Chishimba Kambwili who was minister at the time.
