Another Zambian arrested in India over drugs

A Zambian air traveler was arrested on Saturday at the international airport in the national capital for allegedly trying to smuggle out drugs.
The incident happened last night when a CISF check squad suspected the movement of the Zambian identified as Phiri Elijah (29) at the terminal 3 of the IGIA.

He was arrested just before he was about to board a flight to Dubai.

During checking, the security officials recovered 10-kg of narcotic drug called Methaqualon from his baggage.

Elijah had arrived in India on July 2 and was on a tourist visa.

The estimated value of the drug is about Rs. one crore in the black market.

The passenger was handed over to the Customs officials for further legal action, a CISF official said.
