Another female Zambian has been arrested in Pakistan for drug trafficking.
Drug Enforcement Commission acting spokesperson Samuel Silomba said in a statement that Gladys Chilili, 34, a business lady, was arrested by the Narcotics Force at Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad for trafficking in 260 grams of heroin which was concealed in her hand bag.
Silomba said during interrogation, Gladys revealed to the authorities in Pakistan that she also had heroin filled capsules in her stomach.
He said Gladys was later admitted to Benazir Bhutto General Hospital where she expelled ten pellets of heroin with a total weight of 110grams.
Mr Silomba explained that it is believed that Gladys obtained the drugs from the Tribal Area of Afghanistan, and was scheduled to fly from Islamabad via Dubai to Nairobi.
He added that the authorities from Islamabad have also sent a photo which was taken when Gladys Chilili was arrested in Pakistan.
He says the picture has since been verified and matched with the other photo from the Passport Office.
