Armed paramilitary police flood Mulobezi, voters intimidated

Voters in the forthcoming Mulobezi by election are unsettled by the heavy presence of police officers in the constituency which has been flooded with over 300 paramilitary officers from Kamfinsa.

The local people and traditional leaders have demanded that the police men be taken back as their presence has scared the villagers and may lead to a low voter turnout.

Two truckloads arrived in Mulobezi this morning while two others are on the way to the area but UPND legal counsel Martha Mushipe has wondered their role if they have failed to arrest the PF thug secretary general Davis Chama who shot and wounded a UPND member Mushaukwa mushaukwa over the weekend.

Mushipe accused the police of protecting Chama because he belongs to the ruling party, she said Chama is supposed to be charged for attempted murder.
