UPND’s Doreen Mwamba has warned that any attempts to arrest UPND President Hakainde Hichilema over the Mongu motorcade mishandling by Police will lead to more trouble in the nation.
Ms Mwamba was the UPND parliamentary candidate for Munali in 2016. She successfully petitioned the ‘election’ of Nkandu Luo who is still clinging on to the seat.
Ms Mwamba says UPND has received intelligence information that orders have again been given to the Police by PF cadres to place the UPND President under house arrest but that this will trigger more trouble.
She says it was not the UPND’s fault as PF deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri is putting that the police did not clear the road on time.
Ms Mwamba says the Patriotic Front party must learn how to manage Edgar Lungu adding that UPND is well ahead on how to manage a president.
She says PF has embroiled itself in various political trouble because of inferring with the presidential petition hearing and what she termed as a 2016 rigged election.
Ms Mwamba says if PF wants Zambians to stop doubting their legitimacy, they must allow for the smooth hearing of any presidential petition related matters.
Meanwhile, Ms Mwamba says the people of Zambia will set camp at the UPND President Hakainde Hichilema’s house should Police go ahead with their plan of arresting tonight.
