The contract of Attorney-General Mumba Malila has expired and president Banda has announced that Solicitor-General Abyudi Shonga will perform the functions of Attorney-General.
Mumba Malila‘s contract expired on December 1, 2009.
The President said the Solicitor-General will perform the duties of Attorney-General in accordance with Article 55 of the Constitution of Zambia until a substantive Attorney-General is appointed and ratified by Parliament.
“President Banda thanked Mr. Malila for having rendered his service to the Government and the People of Zambia when he served as Attorney-General at the Ministry of Justice,’ said state house spokesperson Dickson Jere in statement
President Banda said he may send Malila into the diplomatic service
