AVAP continues accusing MMD of electoral corruption in Mporokoso

The Anti Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) has expressed concern at the high level of electoral corruption taking place in Mporokoso involving the ruling MMD ahead of this Thursday’s parliamentary by-election.

AVAP executive director tells QFM from Mporokoso that the ruling party is so desperate to win the seat to the extent that they have resorted to inducing would be voters by dishing out money and other gifts.

Mr Tembo adds that government vehicles some from cabinet office with their number plates removed are being used in the MMD campaigns.

He bemoans that the electoral code of conduct which all political parties should respect is being openly disregarded by the ruling MMD.

Meanwhile Mr Tembo has commended the Electoral Commission of Zambia for making adequate preparations ahead of the Mporokoso parliamentary by-election.

The Mporokoso seat fell vacant following the resignation of MMD’s Maynard Misapa to join the Patriotic Front.
