Avic International bribes Zambian president again for project

Edgar Lungu and his minister of infrastructure Ronald Chitotela have, once more corruptly single sourced Avic International to construct Corporate Offices for the Roads Development Agency (RDA) at a cost of US30 million.

Meanwhile Chitotela has recruited ZNBC’s Masuzyo Ndhlovu as corporate affairs director for RDA to take over from Loyce Saili. Saili was fired for refusing to take part in Chitotela’s corruption at RDA.

The RDA head office will be constructed along Twin Palm road in Lusaka.

Zambian and Chinese sources have disclosed that Chitotela is currently in China to meet the Vice President for Avic International to finalise on the bribe.

” The construction will start in March this year. They have single sourced Avic. Minister Chitotela is currently in China. He flew there from the United States. He is meeting the Avic Vice President,” the source said

According to people close to the deal, Lungu and Chitotela will get 30 per cent of this over priced commodities, single sourced contract.

Meanwhile, Patriotic Front member of parliament for Roan Chishimba Kambwili says AVIC International is single sourced for all major projects by president Edgar Lungu because the Chinese firm is constructing houses fro the dictator.
Kambwili said that AVIC was building for Lungu in almost all parts of Lusaka in exchange of contracts.
Speaking on Let the People Talk programme on Friday Kamwbili said all major projects in the country were given to AVIC because the company was working closely with Lungu.
“Why is AVIC all the time single sourced? When I talk about corruption people ask for evidence. What more evidence do you people want? AVIC is given all road contracts in the country and you have seen what they are building for Lungu in State Lodge area. Look at what they are building for him along Burma road. What more evidence do you people want. Lungu is corrupt,” he said.
Kambwili also said that he would contest the 2021 presidential elections as he has ambitions to be head of state.
