Over 16 million Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Government ballot papers arrive in the country today ahead of the September 20 elections.
This follows the completion of the printing of the ballots at the Universal Printing Group (UPG) in Durban, South Africa.
The ballot boxes will be flown directly from Durban to Lusaka and are expected to be in the country by midday on Tuesday.
Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Director Priscilla Isaacs told journalists that the ballot papers will only be distributed to the districts around the country after they have been inspected by election officials from polling stations.
Isaacs disclosed that the election materials will be distributed by road under tight security to ensure transparency and free and fair elections.
