Zambia’s Baluba copper mine, owned by China Non-Ferrous Metals Corp., stopped production on Thursday due to a strike by miners over working conditions, a company spokesman said.
The mine’s concentrator, power plant, filter plant and cable belt were the worst-affected, spokesman Sydney Chileya said.
“The workers went underground this morning but obviously the entire plant is down because we are not processing,” he said.
