Former president Rupiah Banda says lifting his immunity will be unjustified.
Speaking to journalists in Lusaka as he signed the book of condolences for the late Saudi Arabia crown prince, Banda advised the new regime to concentrate delivering on their promises to voters who gave them the mandate to rule.
Banda said the calls by a small group of people to remove his immunity are baseless, unjustified and unconstitutional.
He however said though stripping his immunity is against the law, the PG regime is at liberty to probe him and other former officials.
And Banda has maintained that no gold was stolen during his presidency.
