The Bankers Association of Zambia (BAZ) has observed that the country has continued to register significant economic growth despite facing a critical shortage of skilled manpower.
Bankers Association of Zambia Chief Executive Officer David Chewe said Zambia should however invest in skills training in order to take a huge leap toward economic development.
Mr. Chewe said this at a press briefing on the fifth Zambia Career Expo in Lusaka today.
The fifth Zambia Career Expo, which will be spearheaded by the Junior Achievers Zambia, will be held in September this year and is expect to attract over 4,000 students.
Mr. Chewe said the expo will help equip youths with skills that are needed for the development of the country.
He has since urged the cooperate world to help train youths in necessary skills.
And Junior Achievers Zambia Executive Director, Teddy Nyasulu said the expo will also help expose students and youths to entrepreneurship skills.
Mr. Nyasulu said this year’s event will focus on both young people who are in school and school leavers.
