Barclays employee steals K5 billion

Police in Lusaka are holding a Barclays Bank employee for theft of over K5 billion.

Nathan Lungu,a Barclays bank official at the ATM card centre in Lusaka was arrested on Wednesday to help police solve what sources says is the the biggest fraud in six years.

Police are trying to establish how Lungu siphoned in excess of $1million (K5Billion) in a space of two months without being detected.

Lungu is detained at Lusaka central police station and the matter is handled by the frauds section but sources say drug the Drug Enforcement Commission and other law enforcement agencies will join soon.
