Barotseland activists kept in conditions not fit for pigs- Akashambatwa Lewanika

Prince Akashambatwa Mbikusita Lewanika has charged that the conditions in which the four Barotseland activists are being held at Mukobeko Maximum Prison are not fit even for pigs.
And Lewanika has stressed that he cannot celebrate Christmas with a government and country whose Christianity is hypocrisy.
Lewanika said in his posting on his face book page that after visiting Afumba Mombotwa and his three co accused at Mukobeko prison on Wednesday, he was disgusted at the conditions the four were subjected to.
‘What I find disgusting and condemnable is that they are being kept in a cell designed by European colonialists for 20 natives in which these prisoners of conscience (political prisoners) are being kept with 300 people of all kinds without ventilation and a filthy environment not fit for pigs, clearly meat from pigs kept like this would be condemned,’ said Lewanika.
Lewanika has since called for the release of all political prisoners in the country but was quick to mention that he was however encouraged by the courage and determination exhibited by the four Barotseland activists.
He said there was no way he could keep silent at the state of oppression and pointed out that there was no single Scottish patriot imprisoned for demonstrating a desire for Scotland to be independent.
‘Was there a Scottish patriot imprisoned for parading a Scottish flag or demonstrating a desire for Scotland to be independent? Lewanika asked.
And Lewanika has stressed that he cannot celebrate Christmas with a government and country whose Christianity is hypocrisy.
‘These Barotse nationals are being kept worse than animals over Christmas by fellow Africans who claim to be Christians, clearly no democrat , no human right advocate can remain silent, excuse me from celebrating Christmas with a government and country whose Christianity is hypocrisy,’ Lewanika charged.
