The Linyungandambo and other people who are pushing for separation and independence of Barotseland (Western province) from Zambia have created an official information portal on the internet.

The website, www.barotseland.info, which appears to be still undergoing construction, contains Barotseland National symbols and government departments.

An explanatory note on the website states that:

‘As the Barotseland Government’s official web portal, Barotseland.info makes it easy for the public to get Barotseland Government information and services on the web. Barotseland.info also serves as the catalyst for a growing Public Administration Network.’

The website refers to Western province as ‘Barotseland Free State’.

A  Mr.  Mwangelwa, the Clerk of the Executive Council, has been put as contact person.

According to information posted so far, the Barotseland Electoral Commission is inviting citizens to register their political organisations .
