Zambia and Tunisia meet in their opening Group D match on Wednesday and Tunisia are odds on favourites with the bookmakers to start with a win.
Tunisia’s World Cup qualifying campaign was fairly solid until the final game when they slipped t defeat in Mozambique and were pipped for a place in South Africa 2010. The 2004 winners must now put that disappointment behind them against a Zambian side who are rated as rank outsiders by the bookmakers.
Zambia’s form is not strong but they did put Korea Republic away 4-1 in a recent friendly and the skipper Chris Katongo and his team could be dangerous to underestimate.
The sides met in the group stages of the 2006 AFCON and Tunisia ran out 4-1 winners.

I’m just a little worried about this one and in many ways Tunisia are in a similar position to fellow north African’s Egypt. Both missed out on world cup qualification in heartbreaking circumstances and how they come out of that holds the key to their AFCON chances. I could well be wide of he mark here but rather than take a short price on Tunisia or call no bet, I’ll go with Zambia to spring a surprise and take a point from this opening match.
Bet: Tunisia and Zambia to draw, 5/2 World Sports Betting
