Big retailers don’t give change

I have a concern Zambia Watchdog.

I have noticed for a long time now that the likes of Shoprite, Choppies, Spar, Food lovers and even Hungry Lion among others have this awkward pricing. For instance, K50.95, K27.99 when they don’t even give back full change after you purchase anything of that much. I once requested for my 40ngwee change and was told they didn’t have. Then I requested to be given anything amounting to the same, the cashier said there was nothing. How many people leave their money like that in a day and how much are these guys making out this kind of unjust trading practice? This is fraud. Already, we are taxed every time we buy something from such places and we don’t need to be robbed like that. That amount may look small but it makes a difference. I don’t think Shoprite would allow you to buy something if you are short of a 40ngwee. At least, I have never heard of such a provision. Can we have proper pricing in these places if not give us our full change..Give us iwe.
