Body of Zambian found floating in a Czech river

A 28-year-old Zambian national staying in the Czech Republic has been found dead in in a river, and the Czech police think it is suicide.

Malitela Sikwebele was found dead and floating in the River Vltava on 6th November, 2O12 in the City of Roztolry.

According to a police report obtained from Prague Police department in Czech

Republic, the body of Sikwebele, was found floating with a bag containing some rocks strapped on his body.

The body was positively identified yesterday, 13th November, 201-2 by close friends of the deceased who are resident in Czech Republic.

The Police however suspects the deceased may have committed suicide given the circumstances in which the body was found.

Investigations by Police on the matter are still going on.

Sikwebele is believed to have gone to Czech Republic in 2005 on a privately sourced scholarship to further his studies in the field of medicine.

The family members of the deceased have since been informed and further instructions are been awaited from the family, said Yvonne P. Shibemba First Secretary at the Zambian Embassy in Germany.

Zambia has no embassy in the Czech but matter in that country are handled by the mission in Berlin.
