An 18 year old girl of Mulobezi is feared dead after she went missing for over ten days. Mulube Mulingula has been missing for 10 days now in Mulobezi district after she went to look for piecework from a peasant farmer named Febian Muzibe who is a former MMD ward councillor. Mulube was in the company of two friends and was last seen with her new-found boy friend called Simanga of Simubimba village. Simanga has since been apprehended and is in police custody in Sichili to help with investigations. He was found with a blood stained under pant, which was identified as belonging to the missing girl by two of her friends. The suspect told the Zambia police at Sichili that he murdered Mulube and buried her body at the end of Mr Muzibe’s farm.
And there was a near riot at Sichili police on Wednesday after police failed to go to the murder scene despite the suspect admitting that he murdered the girl. One resident of Sichili who asked for anonymity said they suspect that the police have been bribed because a number of people are believed to be linked to the murder. ‘The police have mishandled this case and we suspect that they have been bribed because a number of people are believed to be linked to the case that is why people almost rioted,’ explained the source from Sichili.
