British high commissioner John Thornton Tuesday held a closed door meeting with the King of Barotseland his majesty the Litunga Lubosi imwiko ii at the Limulunga Royal Palace to discuss among other things the plight of people in the region.
The meeting which took about over an hour is believed to have also touched on issues surrounding the Barotseland agreement of 1964.
The British envoy is reportedly visiting the region to learn the economic and political situation of people of Barotseland and Zambia as a whole.
Meanwhile, the British envoy also yesterday paid a courtesy call on Western province Deputy Permanent Secretary Pious Mishengo’s office.
Expectations of people of Barotseland have continued to remain high to have a lasting solution on the issue of Barotseland.
