Bus operators finally increase fares to meet minimum wage.

Bus operators in Lusaka have increased bus fares by 6-hundred kwacha on all routes, a week later than originally planned and reported by the Watchdog.

A ZNBC news crew that checked on Kulima Tower and Millennium found some operators charging new fares.

The bus operators justified the fare increment in order to meet the minimum wages that were recently signed by PF government by decree.

Prices of most many essential commodities such as mealie meal, bread, and groceries have been increased. Zesco electricity tariffs will also be increased despite excessive load shedding.
