Acting President Guy Scott was Wednesday afternoon snubbed by cabinet ministers who stayed away from the memorial service for the 25 Kariba boat accident victims. The memorial was held at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka where Scott was seen taking pills.
Only Emannuel Chenda, a member of Fred Membe and Guy Scot’s cartel was present while Miles Sampa, a junior member of the cartel joined later.
Scott was the guest of honour and noticed that most if not all ministers were absent forcing him to say that he could not read out the whole list of protocol because the majority were absent and simply addressed the guests as ‘fellow mourners.’
The Chikwanda group was reported to have been having a meeting at the time Scott was at the Cathedral.
And Scott took some medication right in the Cathedral shortly before he stood to speak. He was handed a bottle of mineral water and pulled some tablets from his pocket and drunk much to the surprise of those who were close to his seat.
Scott is believed to be suffering from Parkinson disease and his hand always shakes uncontrollably.
Several opposition leaders and diplomats accredited to Zambia were in attendance.
