Cadre Journalism: Zambia Daily Mail Photo editor sends Masebo goodwill message

Cadre Journalism has reached its peak at Zambia Daily Mail.  Head of Photography section Brian Malama recently sent a congratulatory message to former Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo when the Post Newspapers wrote a fake story headlined “Tribunal Clears Masebo”.

Brian Malama who traveled with Masebo to Spain during the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) preparatory meetings sent Masebo this message:

” Hon Masebo congrats and well done. God is on your side. Good luck madam. Brian Malama-daily Mail”.

Unfortunate Malama by mistake sent the message to Wallen Simwaka a former Zambia Daily Mail employee who was unceremoniously dismissed from the company for no apparent reasons.

Simwaka confirmed receiving such a text message from Brian Malama though the Zambian Watchdog obtained it from a third party. “Yes where did you get that message.

It is here in my phone. I even phoned Malama back then he answered ” Yes honourable,” and I told him this is Wallen Simwaka,” he said.
It is not known how such a senior photo journalist can be professional if he can be sending such messages to Politicians though we know that Brian Malama just like Kennedy Bwalya at the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation had personalised reporting on Ministry of Tourism during Masebo’s tenure.
