Former Bank of Zambia Governor Dr Caleb Fundanga has been appointed to sit on the board of directors for the Central bank of Zimbabwe.
And we sideline such brains in our country. Others are making good use of our own people. Shame!
WE WILL NEED YOU BACK AFTER THIS CIRCUS OF A GOVERNMENT IN DIAPERS IS KICKED OFF.
Congratulations Dr Fundanga
This is strange indeed. We know Dr Fundanga worked with Prof Mthuli Ncube at African Devt Bank but can the RBZ legally and Constitutionally appoint a Foreigner to RBZ Board? Can BOZ appoint a Zimbabwean to serve on its Board? Are there no qualified and experienced Zimbabweans to serve on RBZ Board? Appointing expatriate Board Member on RBZ Board shows no Confidence in Zimbabweans. What about Confidentiality and Oath of Secrecy Matters? At this Rate Zimbabwe might need an Expatriate President.
It is this kind of thinking which has supervised Africa’s failure to develop! So in your own frame of mind you do not understand why it is essential to have such a mix? Was your Economy’s failure to tick caused by foreigners or lack of them? Dr Fundanga is bringing what cannot be sourced locally in terms of experience, not just qualifications as per your analysis! This includes image building!
GOD BLESS AFRICA!
Good move to recognize Zambian Talent. In addition to appointing Dr Caleb Fundanga they might as well hire Peter Magande who was Zambia’s Minister of Finance while Dr Fundanga was Governor of BOZ. These two working as a Team could turnaround the collapsing Zimbabwean Economy. Zimbabweans should value these Zambian Talents. Zambianisation of RBZ and Zimbabwe Ministry of Finance is the Panacea to Zimbabwe’s Problems.
Good point. The current Bank of England Governor is Canadian. How about that?
