The former Archbishop of Lusaka (1996–2006) died this (Thursday) evening.
Cardinal Mazombwe has been sick from last year in July when was admitted to an Italian Hospital in Lusaka. He was suffering from severe spinal pains.
He was evacuated to South Africa on 8th August, 2012, for expert treatment and was admitted to Morningside Clinic.
He was born 24 September 1931. He is the former Archbishop of Lusaka (1996–2006) and Bishop of Chipata (1970–1996).
