CB Police Chief not aware of PF attack on UPND Ndola office due to load shedding

Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Joyce Kasosa has claimed that she is not aware of the attack that was carried by PF thugs on UPND offices in Ndola on Thursday due to load shedding of power by ZESCO.
Kasosa referred all queries on the attack to the Public Relations office in Lusaka claiming that she was out of town and has not listened to news in the past two days due to load shedding.
‘ I don’t know if that happened in Ndola because I am out and as you know there is load shedding so I have not listened to the news in the past two days,’ Kasosa claimed.
Following President Edgar Lungu’s allegation in Kasama this week that the UPND plans to cause chaos and violence ahead of the 2016 elections, PF thugs violently attacked the UPND Secretariat in Ndola on Thursday.
President Lungu has not spoken against the violence on opposition members and the media but has instead warned that he will retire what he called ‘police cadres’ who are being ‘promised’ positions once the opposition wins elections next year.
He further warned that some police officers are related to opposition leaders and he will not hesitate to retire them if they don’t act professionally.
President Lungu is expected on the Copperbelt for campaigns until after Christmas but his police cadres are blocking the opposition from holding meetings there.
