Chaos reigns in PF internal party fight for positions

The on-going intra party elections in the ruling Patriotic Front have brought chaos in the party.

Mandevu Member of Parliament and MCC official, Jean Kapata has objected to what she calls interference in her constituency coming from the Secretary General Davies Mwila.

Kennedy Kamba on the other hand says President Edgar Lungu has endorsed him for his candidature and Emmanuel Chilubanama and Chongwe Mayor, Geoffrey Chumbwe were both wasting their time and resources.

Recently government suspended the mining of Chumbwe’s small-scale gold mine mine, Eyethu Sonke Mining Limited closed for alleged hazardous and unsafe mining practices.

Chumbwe claims he is being victimised by his competitors that claim they are more close to President Lungu.

The trio are aspiring for the position of Lusaka Provincial Chairperson.

But the chaos is more pronounced on the Copperbelt where Luanshya Mayor, Nathan Chanda is running against Chifubu member of parliament,Frank Ngambi for the position of Provincial Chairperson.

Ngambi is among the new MPs originally from MMD, and is being accused of being an MMD as he aspired for the Chifubu seat under MMD in 2011.

The family of Nathan Chanda has taken center stage as his parents have also been elected in the Luanshya district committee.

Kitwe Mayor, Christopher Kangombe, who is vying for the position of Vice-Chairperson is embroiled in the plots scandal where he shared with fellow counsellors, high-cost residential plots in Riverside.
