Chella family insist Wusakile MP is responsible for his murder

The Family of late former Member of Parliament (MP) for Wusakile Barnabas Chella have insisted that Patriotic Front (PF) Wusakile MP Richard Musukwa is responsible for the brutal death of Mr Chella because he he is the one who incited charcoal burners.

And Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Wynter Kabimba this morning allegedly instructed the Kitwe City Council (KCC) not to allow the body of Mr Chella to pass through the civic centre as earlier planned by the council forcing the programme to change at short notice.

Mr Chella’s body was expected to pass through the civic centre because he had served as deputy mayor, but Mr Kabimba allegedly instructed the council not to allow the former MP’s body to pass  through the civic centre because he had left PF as a rebel

Speaking at Niza farm during the burial of Mr Chella, Family Spokesperson Yassy Chella said his family had concluded that Mr Musukwa was responsible for the brutal death of Mr Chella because he was the one who incited charcoal burners who axed Mr Chella to death on September 5 at his farm.
Mr Chella said his brother was murdered at his farm by charcoal burners, two weeks, after a meeting with Wusakile MP Richard Musukwa.
“As the Chella family, we have concluded that Hon. Musukwa is responsible for Hon. Chella’s brutal death because he is the one that incited the charcoal burners. We say this  because, before hon. Musukwa’s visit and meeting, there has been no violence in that area whatsoever,” Mr Chella said.
Mr Chella said the charcoal burners were further encouraged to continue with their illegal activities and business of cutting trees at Mfubu ranch by Mr Musukwa who is also deputy mines minister.
“Hon. Musukwa held a meeting with the charcoal burners between August 27 and 28, 2013 in which he told them that the Mfubu ranch belongs to them. ZNBC has a footage of his address. The post carried out this story on August 29, 2013.
“It all started when the charcoal burners decided to encroach into his farm for purposes of charcoal burning. We would like to make it clear that these groups of people are small scale or peasant farmers as reported in some sections of the print media, but they are merely charcoal burners that have caused rampant deforestation in the area,’ He said.
He said Mr Chella legally and genuinely owned 300 hectares of land at Mfubu ranch which he acquired 10 years ago and that those who wanted to do verifications can go at the Kitwe City Council (KCC).
Mr Chella’s burial was attended by former MPs, politicians, civic leaders, church leaders, but Mr Musukwa was conspicuously missing at the burial.

And council officers at KCC informed the Zambian Watch Dog that PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba had  instructed them not to allow the body of Mr Chella to pass through the council he had served as deputy Mayor.

Mr Kabimba didn’t want Mr Chella’s body to pass through the civic centre because he had dumped the PF by the time he was murdered.

After getting instructions from Mr Kabimba, the council officers informed Mr Chella’s relative about the new development, saying Mr Chella’s body would not pass through the council due to circumstances beyond their control.
