Just like the Watchdog predicted, Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda is putting pressure on Judge Getrude Chawatama to rule in favour of Edgar Lungu as Acting president.
Chibesakunda’s desperate move is to enable Lungu to enjoy state resources during the campaigns. Chibesakunda has been pressurising Judge Chawatama to declare Guy Scott’s appointment by cabinet as Acting President as erroneous but Judicial sources say Chibesakunda’ s behaviour may lead to chaos in the country.
Edgar Lungu has dragged Guy Scott demanding that he hands back presidential powers to him.
Lungu is hiding behind Newton Nguni.
Judge Chawatama is set to hear the matter tomorrow but is under undue pressure from Chibesakunda, whose stay in office is facing legal challenges. She has been Acting Chief Justice since 2011 when her relative, the late President Michael Sata appointed her in spite of being above the constitutional age for the office holder.
