Chief Immigration officer fired

The Director General for the department of immigration Anderson Phiri has been fired.

Home Affairs minister Edgar Lungu (the drunkard) said Anderson Phiri has been retired in national Interest and his Deputy  Moola Milomo has been appointed to act as the Director General.

Phiri was due for retirement next year (2013).

Lungu said Phiri has been fired because the immigration department is in a mess.

Lungu told his new appointee Milomo to clean the mess in the department and re-organise it saying the ministry received a lot of complaints regarding corrupt tendencies in the department.

He told Milomo not to be complacent and allow the scourge of bad working culture and wrong attitude towards work by officers to go on saying people voted the Patriotic Front (PF) into government because they wanted to see efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery in government departments.

Lungu has since advised officers in other departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs to learn a lesson from the Immigration issue saying those with laxity and sloppiness in the way they discharged duties will be next to deal with.
