Senior Chief Ishindi of the Lunda people has advised traditional leaders to stay away from active politics and avoid being compromised.
In an interview in Lusaka, Ishindi said chiefs tend to lose focus and become partisan when they involve themselves in politics.
He noted that traditional rulers should portray their true identity with impartiality despite their political affiliation.
Ishindi said chiefs are custodians of traditional heritage and must be seen to be the comer of the society in which they live.
The traditional ruler also urged his fellow chiefs to ensure they carry out their chiefdom duties with integrity and diligence to allow them rule with ease.
