Chief Mwamba yawns for PF victory

Senior Chief Mwamba of the Bemba speaking people says he wishes the opposition Patriotic Front could win the forthcoming elections to avoid violence in the country.

Chief Mwamba says the PF will not accept the outcome of the elections if they do not emerge victorious.

And the chief says Zambia is not ready to implement certain laws that govern elections such as the inauguration period for the president-elect.

He says introducing the 90 days transition period in the constitution will bring chaos in the country stressing that certain political individuals in the country are not patient.

Meanwhile Chief Mwamba has bemoaned the high poverty levels the country has recorded since the MMD government came to power.

Speaking over the weekend in Kasama when Citizens Forum executive secretary Simon Kabanda and a team journalists paid a courtesy call on him, Chief Mwamba said it is disheartening to hear that the country’s economy is growing when the situation on the ground is different.

He has also advised politicians in the country to desist from issuing inflammatory statements against each other.

Speaking at the same occasion,Citizens Forum executive secretary Simon Kabanda said that Zambia needs to change certain laws pertaining to elections to avoid rigging.

Mr. Kabanda said that Zambia has been having questionable election results because of the type of laws that govern elections in the country.
