Chief Mwansa Kombe of the Ng’umbo people in Samfya district has been evacuated to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) for medical treatment.
This was after the traditional leader suffered a suspected malaria bout and high blood pressure recently.
The chief was in admition at Kasaba Mission Hospital in Samfya, before being referred to Mansa General Hospital two days ago.
President Rupiah Banda wished Chief Mwansa Kombe well at Mansa Airport today before the chief was flown to Lusaka.
President Banda is in Luapula Province to grace this year’s Umutomboko traditional ceremony of the Lunda people in Mwansabombwe.
