A Zambian traditional leader has pronounced curses on the country’s defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba following an altercation in the run up to the July 5 Muchinga by-election.
Mwamba, widely known as GBM, is at the centre of a corrupt PF campaign mechanism to win votes in Muchinga area whose ticket was occupied by the late former vice-president George Kunda who was representing MMD.
The PF has been grading roads, distributing relief food and giving people money but are finding the ground very tough to woo voters to vote their candidate.
This forced GBM, a naturally rude and insolent politician, to demean Chieftainess Serenje.
The traditional leader did not take kind to GBM’s conduct following allegations she was decampagning the PF.
In full view of senior government officials, GBM was pronounced with curses as the traditional leader lost her cool.
Howard Kunda, son of the late Kunda, is contesting the seat on the MMD ticket while the Patriotic Front is fielding Juliety Ntembwe.
