Chifire says calls for Chitotela to resign will heighten

A Corrupt Public Officer is not worthy holding Public Office.

Whereas we respect the views expressed by the Chishinga Royal Establishment through the Chairperson, Mr. Musonda Mushota, as reported by Radio Phoenix, in which he has called on the members of the Public to respect their subject, Minister of Infrastructure Ronald Chitotela and stop demanding the Minister’s resignation, we do not agree with the Royal Establishment.

Our call for the Minister’s resignation has nothing to do with respect or lack of it, but for the purpose of ensuring that we protect the integrity of both government and the Minister himself, and as well as ensuring that there is no interference whatsoever, with the due process Justice.

It is not uncommon even in chiefdoms to ask individuals who are under investigation to stay away from their duties. Asking them to stay away from duty does in no way conclude that they are guilty.

Integrity in Public service confers one with nobility and attracts public respect. It is not a matter that can be lobbied for or demanded.

For the sake of Justice on both the end of the Minister and the general public, who are the owners of the resources, we shall heightening our calls for his resignation.

A Corrupt Public Officer is not worthy holding Public Office.
